Experimental Investigation in the Autoignition Behaviour of Aviation Jet Fuel in a Rapid Compression Machine

Jet A-1 fuel's autoignition behaviour was examined experimentally in a newly developed rapid compression machine (RCM) at the University of Sheffield. The experiment conducted compressed temperature temperatures 697 K ⩽ Tc 796 K, pressure 6 and 10 bar, under lean stoichiometric conditions (φ = 0.75 1.0). initial chamber wall varied from 115°C - 135°C. effect temperature, equivalence ratio seen to have influence on ignition delay time (IDTs) A-1. In experimental condition studied, exhibited an Arrhenius that is increasing decreases monotonically with IDTs. Evidence two-stage absence Negative Temperature Coefficient (NTC) observed within studied.
